This is a list of things the locals recommend and places they make a point to show take their family and friends to when they are visiting the Central Coast.

- Thursday night Farmer’s Market - Downtown San Luis Obispo, this is held every Thursday with the exception of Thanksgiving.
- Mission San Luis Obispo - Downtown San Luis Obispo
- Hearst Castle - Yes, this is worth making a day of it. You will need reservations so call ahead. On a sunny day you can see forever, but it is also a very enjoyable tour when it is raining.
- Pismo Beach - You can walk for miles on this beach. Expect fog during the summer months. The beach and town are crowded on the weekends from Memorial Day thru Labor Day, but the crowds are minimal compared to the beaches in southern California.
